Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi Appointed Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court

Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court, succeeding Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra who retired on December 28, 2023. The Supreme Court collegium recommended his appointment in December last year, and the Union Ministry of Law and Justice officially announced it on July 3, 2024.

Swearing-In Ceremony

On July 5, Justice Sarangi took the oath as the 15th Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court. The oath was administered by Governor CP Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi. He was elevated to the bench as a permanent judge of the Orissa High Court on June 20, 2013.
